Basement Storms
Growing up in VA the drill that we are always taught in school is for tornadoes. We were taught if we didn't have time to get to the safest room in the building then to hide under something like a desk. If we did have a warning we were to go to a hallway, interior room without windows, or the lowest level of the building. The same goes for homes. We are taught to stay away from windows and doorways and outside walls. That usually leads people to their basements and wait it out. But sometimes basements get flooded; waiting out a storm in the basement isn't good if it's flooding. So how do we prevent this from happening or fix it once it has happened? Call SERVPRO 540-423-6688
