If I had to choose

This laundry room flooded due to a storm. No matter what the reasoning behind the flooding is; a flood is never fun nonetheless. However, if one had to choose between carpet and tile for a flooding disaster, one would more than likely choose tile. The reason behind this is because one with carpet it might be harder to notice the water damage in the first place. Two the process takes longer to remove the water. Three the water will affect both the carpet and the padding underneath. Lastly, four if you do not properly remove the water from the carpet and/or replace the carpet (depending on the situation) then mold will grow and an entirely different issue will arise.
